The Orbit 51023P 1' Manual Anti-Siphon Valve combines an inline flow control valve with an atmospheric vacuum breaker, preventing backflow from the irrigation system into the culinary water supply. This valve design is required by code in California and commonly used throughout North America for zone-level backflow prevention. Use with PVC-Lock fittings for faster, Glue-free installation!
This valve is designed for individual irrigation zone control. It is NOT designed to be installed as a main shut-off valve for an entire irrigation system. Each valve controls one irrigation zone independently.

Installation Requirements

For proper vacuum breaker operation, this valve must be installed: Above-ground only - cannot be installed underground or in valve boxes below grade Minimum 6 inches above the highest sprinkler head in the zone it controls (12 inches recommended) With anti-siphon cap vertical (pointing upward) at all times On stable riser or structure to maintain proper elevation and orientation
For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only.
